God Speaks

So here's my QOD (question of the day) for you: How does God speak to you?
(Real talk: I may have stolen this question from a friend, but it's really great, so I'm not really that sorry about it).

This week I feel like I've been absolutely blown away by how personally the Lord has been speaking to me. I wanted to share a few below:

In the Hours by Indeliable Grace. So I've been on a pandora kick lately as happens when I really want some new music, and one of the best things that's come of it is Indeliable Grace. Listen to them. They absolutely rock. For me, music is definitely one way that I feel like I personally connect with the Lord (see the entire slew of posts I have on songs, especially Christmas music), so I really feel His love personally when I come across a new song that shows me something new about Him.

When the World Sparkles Enough that it blinds, the Kingdom fades to Grey.  Can't take credit for this one either - it was shared with me by one of my med school classmates. Something I've definitely been thinking over recently and I feel like we all wrestle with. I think one of the ways the Lord speaks to me is when He shows me someone else that can relate to the things I'm wrestling with or that sees the world in the same way.

Kids. So again - had to go with a stock photo for this one, but taking care of kids on my Pediatrics rotation has really shown me what an absolute amazing Creator the Lord is. Seeing new life and growth in others = the Lord shouting loud and clear.

So. Guaranteed you're pretty different from me. How does the Lord speak to you?

  1. Great post, Bets! To answer your question, God speaks to me when I'm in His beautiful creation (woods, mountains, rivers, lakes, etc). I think it's so cool how He can speak to us through the same verse or song in different ways. Like your second quote meant one thing to you, but to me, it reminds me that when I get too focused on this world, I lose sight of His kingdom! Thanks for posting!!
