ristmas eve is a time of waiting. Waiting for presents, waiting for delicious christmas eve dinner to be finished, waiting for all of your relatives to arrive - lots of general anticipation and excitement! As I was thinking about all of the waiting of Christmas eve, it reminded me of all of the waiting that the Jewish people had to do for their savior. I can't imagine the challenges associated with waiting thousands of years for God to fulfill his promises. We are so blessed and fortunate that we do not have to wait for Christ - He has already come! I pray that this Christmas eve, as we're waiting for all of the fun Christmas festivities, that we can rejoice in the fact that Christ is already with us!

Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:21-23
