This past Sunday, our pastor spoke about living a radically transformed life because we know Jesus Christ. It definitely made me stop and think: If we truly love Christ and believe that He died to save us from our sins and to give us new life, shouldn’t our lives reflect this radical change?
When I reflect upon my own life, during the time I didn’t know Christ as well as now that I have been saved by Him, of course there has been some great transformation. But could it be more of a radical change? Of course it could. Although I know I have been made new in Christ, I so often live my life in a way that certainly doesn’t suggest that.
As we steadily approach Christmas and the wonderful birth of our Redeemer (yay!), let’s meditate upon our own lives. We have been radically transformed through Christ Jesus our Lord--- He calls us children of God! Do our lives reflect that truth?
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
-John 1:12
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
-Ephesians 1:3-8
