I woke up this morning to cold rain coming in my open window. Ugh. After hitting snooze on my phone alarm until it eventually quit and gave me a look (yes my phone is sometimes like a person) that said, "You're on your own today, kiddo," I rolled out of bed and stumbled sleepily to the bathroom to brush my teeth. For some reason, the little kids' song "This is the day that the Lord has made" started playing in my head and before I knew it, I was singing it out loud! (Apologies to my dear roomie VA if I woke you up!)
Now I know good and well that I didn't start singing that because I was super cheery and joyful this morning. Far from it, in fact --- usually, the last thing on my mind at that time of day is glorifying God, but He had other plans for me and just wanted to remind me that yes, today is the day that the Lord has made, and we should rejoice and be glad in it!
Wherever you are, whether you're trucking through the day at work, leading the charge to free women from prostitution around the world (what what Crobs!), or buried in Firestone working on your thesis or studying for midterms, remember:
"This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
-Psalm 118:24
Two video treats for y'all today:
Check out this little munchkin singing This is the day that the Lord has made!
And as an added bonus, another version: This is the day that the Lord has made again!
