Radical Love

Love.  It’s a word that many of us hear and use all the time.    We love our parents, our siblings, our friends.  If we’re lucky, we love our jobs or our studies.  Maybe we love our favorite restaurant or that new phone we just can’t put down.

But what is love?  As Christians, we are called to love one other as Christ has loved us.  We are called to love our enemies as ourselves.  Galations 5:14 clearly states, “The entire law is summed up in a single command: Love your neighbor as yourself.”

In essence, we are called to love radicallyRadical love.  That’s a pretty tall order.  How do we love radically in this modern day, 21st century world of self-centeredness, pride, distrust of others, and desire to succeed?  How can we, as mere humans, ever hope to love others as Christ loves us?

For Christians, our purpose in life is love.  Without love, our lives are pointless.  In 1 Corinthians 13:7, the apostle Paul points out, “No matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.”  Our lives on this Earth are truly nothing without love.

It is our prayer that through this blog, you will grow with us in the understanding of God’s radical love for His children and in discovering the practice of radically loving others in the way that we are called to do.  After all, God is love and we are in this world to live lives of love.

We are a community of believers, some best friends and some absolute strangers, all sharing one common desire:  we long to grow ever closer to our God, loving others as He has loved us.

We welcome your thoughts, prayers, and musings, and we pray that the Lord will speak His love to your heart.

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13
